In the THS series the rear cap is welded to the tube and there are no external tie-rods. For the same bore that means a slimmer envelope, a shorter closed length and fewer parts — ideal for compact machines, tight installation spaces and systems that need a project-specific mounting.
Because the weld is a pressure-bearing zone, weld quality is critical: every cylinder is leak-checked at test pressure before it leaves the plant.
| THS welded | Tie-rod | |
|---|---|---|
| Envelope | Compact, no external rods | Wider because of the tie-rods |
| Closed length | Shorter | Longer |
| Servicing | Possible, more labour | Very easy |
| Mountings | Lugs and brackets can be welded on to suit | Standard mounting parts |
| Typical use | Mobile, agricultural, tight spaces | Industrial machines, presses |
For the tie-rod design see tie-rod hydraulic cylinders; for a fully custom design, custom hydraulic cylinders.
A compact hydraulic cylinder with the rear cap welded to the tube and no external tie-rods.
Resealing takes more labour than on a tie-rod cylinder; in return they are more compact and lighter.
160 bar working and 240 bar test pressure, with a 250 bar option.
Yes — the welded body can be designed with lugs and special brackets for your machine.
