What Is a Flange Connection?
A flange connection is a flat plate fitted to the cylinder’s front or rear cap that fixes the cylinder rigidly and axially to the machine. Because force is transmitted straight along the axis, it is the strongest mounting for high push and pull forces.
Use a front flange for push loads and a rear flange for pull loads; if the load swings, choose a pivoting mounting instead.
