Choosing Cylinder Connection Equipment
Connection equipment fixes a pneumatic cylinder to the machine safely and in line. The wrong mounting means side load on the rod, worn bearings and seals, and a short life.
The basic rule: rigid mountings (foot, flange) for a fixed load direction; pivoting mountings (hinge, trunnion, floor bracket) when the load moves through an arc — with a clevis or spherical eye on the rod end.
| Rigid | Foot, flange |
| Pivoting | Hinge, middle trunnion, floor bracket, H/U bearings |
| Rod end | Clevis (circlip/clip), spherical eye |

Frequently Asked Questions
Which mounting should I choose?
Foot or flange for a fixed load direction; hinge, trunnion or floor bracket for angular motion.
Why a spherical rod end?
It tolerates small misalignment and prevents side load.
Which cylinders do they fit?
They are selected by bore and standard — state the cylinder model when ordering.
